BACK TO SCHOOL GOODIES

Back to school prep starts now for our little one. This will be the first year Riley is going off to school and that means this mama has to stock up on writing utensils, scissors, clothes, hair products, screen-time protective glasses, snacks, a backpack, hair bows, etc. Sometimes it feels like the list is never going to end. Shopping can be a drab for both parents and kids, which is why I am sharing some fun products that we use and love.

Products I have come to admire and use often are Blot (pens), Westcott (scissors), Snip-its (kids hair products), Zenni (eye glasses), OshKosh B’gosh (kids clothing), and Sprout Organic Curlz (snacks). I need reliable products that will last the test of time. I do have three kids after all and want to be able to pass items down. While durability is really important to me, price point is another focus for our family. I need to make sure I am not going to break the piggy bank. Seriously this is one of our biggest focuses. I don’t want to have to buy the same item twice; biggest pet peeve ever. This is why I will do my research to look in to the best products out there on the market so I can make a cost effective decision. Mommy Rachel don’t play. Ha!

My daughter Riley is so excited to go to school; she can’t wait to read and write on her own. For motivation, I got Riley gel coloring pens by Blot. Blot has a variety of pens that come in bright energetic colors, fearless greens and blues, as well as gold, silver, and black to encourage our little learners to complete their projects. She loves the size of the mini gel coloring pens as well as the mini highlighters. Size is everything to her at this age.

Riley is also looking forward to cutting paper in class with her Westcott scissors for kids. She keeps reminding me that she is a ‘safe cutter’ and can handle using scissors on her own. When it comes to scissors, my mentality is that of knives; sharper is safer. The worst thing I could do to my kid is give her a pair of dull scissors where she is applying too much pressure and injures herself. To prevent injuries, I am relying on the best scissors I know; Westcott. They have been around by popular demand since 1872 as the world’s favorite scissors. I think it’s safe to say they are the best in the industry.

When it comes to hair, Riley thinks she is a grown woman. She only wants me to help her style it when she has a specific look in mind, otherwise she wants to do her hair by herself. Snip-its has rad kids styling products that allow my daughter to brush and style her hair on her own. They are a super kid-friendly brand that offers the ultimate haircut adventure in multiple locations too. We are hoping a Snip-its opens near us soon! Until then, we are going to continue using their fun products that are natural and make Riley’s hair life easier.

While Riley does not need a prescription for kids glasses, we do want to protect her eyes with screen protective glasses like the ones pictured in the above photo. Zenni offers a wide range of stylish and affordable prescription eyewear that start as low as $6.95. Zenni makes it possible to have eyewear for every look, occasion, or need for every family member. I have been wearing these glasses myself and ordered a pair that fit my style. I do have a prescription and can vouch for Zenni. They have amazing deals and their glasses are so cute and stylish! I love that I don’t have to compromise style for price.

As far as clothes are concerned, OshKosh Girls Clothes is where it’s at! My biggest focus is comfortability. I want the fabrics to be soft and hold-up multiple times in the wash. Accidents happen often in our family; I am always letting the kids try things on their own and sometimes that means milk spilled which really translates to a mini load of laundry. I want my daughter to have timeless designs that are kid-friendly and trend-right. OshKosh makes easy, relatable clothes for real kids. I want Riley to have fun playing in her clothes and look cute. She is my kid after all and you all know I have a sweet spot for fashion. Riley is wearing a green military jacket with a sequence emoji top and the cutest pair of denim with a gold stripe on the side.

If you know my kids, you know they eat like birds; they eat little portions often. For this reason, I have to make sure they are filling up on nutritious snacks. With a broad range of choices including only USDA certified organic, non-GMO ingredients, I can trust Sprout to fill our hunger needs. Sprout’s products are plant powered protein designed to expand baby’s palate beyond sweet and establish a love of nutritious foods early on. Can I get a yasss queen!? Sprout Organic Curlz and Crispy Chews are a top five favorite in our house.

I hope you feel encouraged in your back to school endeavors and try the products we listed above and fall in love with them as well. If you have any questions about the products I listed please feel free to reach out.
