HOW TO DRESS FEMININE IN BLACK
These days, women are looking to show some strength in a sassy way and I’ve got the perfect outfit to showcase our strength in femininity. Blazers, mules, and florals make strong statements in a romantic way. When I think of my younger days and how I wanted to wear all black, but failed miserably due to small fashion errors, it makes me giggle. I could have achieved the look I wanted if I would have focused on important staple pieces. Instead, I was spending my money and time on finding statement pieces that were much too trendy. I have found the best way to be trendy is to stay classic or at least stick with classic staple pieces and build on them.
You have basics you need for the fall like a black blazer, black denim, and black mules. Transitioning from summer to fall can be one of the most difficult seasons to go in to because we simply don’t want to let go of our endless summer days and all of our toe peeping shoes. I think this outfit is the perfect way to achieve fall fashion greatness; you get to still feel some of summer while looking like you fit in to fall.
Let’s chat about each piece and why you need them:
The blazer to me is a no brainer because it’s great for so many reasons. You can always use one for interviews, adding sass to any outfit that says “I am fierce. How can I help you?”, using your blazer like a sweater, but you instantly look hotter and more put together. Finally, a blazer adds luxury to your life and who wants to pass up on that?
The mules are completely necessary for the transition from summer to fall, because most of us are simply not ready to part with our sandals. We are in denial that winter is coming and want to hold on to every ounce of summer that we can grasp. It doesn’t mean we don’t LOVE the fall, it just means we like our summers to be long and our vacations to be bottomless.
The florals because let’s face it, flowers make us feel pretty. We still want to be sweet off our feet and flowers still carry a romantic tune.
Also, who doesn’t want to feel and look like Serena V (Blake Lively) from Gossip Girl. I know most of us are still living vicariously through her wardrobe selection in that show. Even years after that show has ended, those outfits are still coming to life, because Serena wore classic pieces in a big way.
