I am often asked if I am going to breastfeed or formula feed my child and the answer is simple; I am going to do both. It happens to be one of the most asked questions I encounter. I think people are interested in the amount of time feeding infants take and the possible sacrifices for either option.
I believe in fed babies being happy and healthy babies, so really either option whether it be breastmilk or formula, you are making a great choice in feeding your baby. For my supplementation, I trust Enfamil Enspire for it’s immune-supporting lactoferrin, a key protein also found in colostrum and breast milk. It also has brain-building MFGM and DHA added as an ingredient. MFGM supports cognitive development similar to breast milk*. The incredible thing about Enfamil Enspire is that it is a non-GMO**infant formula. *Ingredients not genetically engineered. Visit Enfamil.com/non-GMO for more information.
My babies can be extremely picky with how their food tastes, so I try to mix some of my milk with the formula in baby cereal when I first introduce them to baby cereal. Enfamil Enspire has an easy-to-digest 60:40 whey-to-casein ratio, patterned after mature breastmilk (15 days-6 months after birth). I find mixing the formula with my breastmilk really helps my babies to adjust to the change in flavor and it has proven to be an easier adjustment for us. Adding ‘solids’ can always be a stressful experience for both parent and child and making the experience taste similar is important.
